That’s how my grandma once spoke,
That’s how my grandpa once spoke,
That’s how my God wants me to speak,
That’s how my soul longs to speak.
I speak boldly and fearlessly,
I speak softly and politely,
I speak poetically at all times,
I speak poetically to the world,
I speak to echo what the Lord says,
I speak to market my poetic words,
I speak as guided by plain truth,
I speak as guided by words of wisdom,
I speak as guided by culture and tradition,
I speak to share great historical experiences,
I speak to share unforgettable testimonies,
I speak to express the wisdom within my soul.
I feel fulfilled whenever I speak poetically,
For poetry is my voice, my calling, and my way of life.
