Nimba Supt. Korquoi Dies

Nimba County former Superintendent, Nelson Korquoi, has died. He was 51.

Korquoi’s death, according to a source closed to the family, came in the wake of audit report the General Auditing Commission (GAC) had submitted.

The recent audit report linked Korquoi (deceased) and other county officials, who either worked with him, or prior to him becoming the county’s administrator during the regime of the erstwhile government of George Weah.

Earlier report suggested that shortly GAC released the audit on Nimba County, Mr. Korquoi felt off with stroke until news of his sudden death spread on social media on late Tuesday, June 9, while attending a medical service.

Other reports indicated that Korquoi suffered a medical emergency a few days ago, and was rushed into ‘sick bush.’

Further details surrounding his death are yet to be officially confirmed as the county is yet to release further information concerning his final earthly journey.
