The raid was carried out on Friday, July 3, in the Tienpo Community of Puryoken Town. It was led by the county’s Operations Commander, and conducted jointly with a sheriff of the Fish Town City Magisterial Court.
The event followed the issuance of a legal search and seizure warrant.
The suspect, a 46-year-old Agbata Frank, was arrested at his residence.
During the search, LDEA officers recovered 33 strips of tramadol pills,117 wraps of marijuana, half a plate of compressed marijuana.
The Agency placed the estimated street value of the seized drugs at L$296,400.
River Gee County LDEA Commander, Bill Cooper said, the suspect is currently undergoing investigation at the detachment’s headquarters in Fish Town.
“Upon the conclusion of our investigation, the case file will be forwarded to the Fish Town City Magisterial Court for prosecution in accordance with the drug laws.”
Cooper reaffirmed LDEA’s commitment to intensify the fight against drug trafficking in every part of the country, including River Gee.
“Anyone found selling or distributing illegal drugs will face the full weight of the law. We will not allow our communities to be destroyed by narcotics.”
The LDEA also appealed to residents to support law enforcement by providing timely and credible information on suspected drug activities.
“Public cooperation is critical in this fight. We urge citizens to report any suspicious persons or locations to the LDEA or the nearest police station.”
The arrest comes as the LDEA continues targeted operations to dismantle drug (ghettos) and cut-off supply routes.
