Tensions are mounting in Totota, following the alleged killing of a commercial motorcyclist whose motorcycle was reportedly stolen by his attackers.
Preliminary reports indicate that the incident occurred within the Totota area, where the victim was allegedly attacked and killed. His identity is being withheld pending notification of his family.
Community sources say the attackers fled with the victim’s motorcycle following the incident.
One suspected perpetrator has reportedly been apprehended by residents and subsequently handed over to the Liberia National Police (LNP) detachment in Totota. Two other suspects are said to be on the run.
The incident has prompted fellow commercial motorcyclists in Totota to stage a peaceful protest, calling for justice and demanding a swift police investigation and the prosecution of anyone found responsible.
Meanwhile, residents are calling on the police to intensify efforts to apprehend the remaining suspects and ensure that those involved are brought to justice.
