MFDP, MoH Hold High-Level Budget Review Session

Senior officials, and technical experts from the Ministries of Finance and Development Planning (MFDP) and Health (MoH), over the weekend convened a high-level “Deep Dive” in Monrovia to assess budget implementation.
The review highlighted progress in health sector projects under the Public Sector Investment Program (PSIP), and as well, address challenges affecting service delivery.
The MFDP said, the ongoing “Deep Dive” engagements are intended to enhance institutional performance, improve project delivery, and ensure government spending produces measurable results in line with the objectives of the ARREST Agenda.
The strategic meeting brought together Finance, and Development Planning Minister, Augustine Kpehe Ngafuan, Health Minister Louise M. Kpoto, Deputy and Assistant Ministers from both the institutions, as well as technical experts responsible for implementing key government programs.
The session is part of a series of engagements spearheaded by the MFDP, intended to strengthen coordination among government institutions.
It is also aimed to improve budget execution, and accelerate the implementation of national development priorities under the ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development.
Participants from both the institutions conducted a detailed review of ongoing health sector projects, and examined the status of budget performance to identify obstacles slowing implementation down.
Discussions focused on practical measures to address bottlenecks, enhance efficiency, and ensure that approved resources are effectively utilized to improve healthcare delivery nationwide.
The initiative further echoes government’s commitment to strengthen accountability, promote inter-agency collaboration, and ensure that public investments deliver meaningful benefits to its citizens.
Senior officials from both institutions further highlighted the importance of stronger coordination between the Finance Ministry, and the health sector, something they said, play a critical role in achieving national development goals, and improve access to quality healthcare for Liberians.
