MDR Reaffirms Commitment To Boakai-Koung Rescue Mission By: Fiona Benson Kollie

The National Chairman of the Collaborating Movement for Democracy and Reconstruction (MDR) Party and Labour Minister Cllr. Cooper W. Kruah, has reaffirmed the commitment of the party to its current alliance with the Unity Party led Government of President Joseph Nyumah and Vice President Jeremiah KpanKoung. He made the commitment over the weekend in Nimbia County during the funeral services of his former founder of the NDR Prince Y Johnson who accordingly passed on the 28th day of November 2024. The MDR which was established by Nimba County legionary Senator Prince Yornie Johnson has also over the years brought and empower many men And women in the political scene especially of Nimbia County, including the current Vice President of the Republic of Liberia Jeremiah Koung. Chairman Kruah further expressed the party’s official position in recommitting its alliance with the Unity Party-led Rescue Mission Government, something which he described as ‘ the life dream and legacy of late Senator Johnson’. Chairman Kruah emphasized in the party’s special tribute that although there are some MDR party cadres who may have divergent views on the matter, but said the official position of the party has been made public and being demonstrated in concrete terms through the level of cordial interactions between the two parties on several crucial national issues, for the greater benefit of the Liberian people and specifically citizens of Nimba County, the birthplace of the Party’s late Founding Leader and several other officials. Meanwhile, MDR National Chairman Kruah has declared that the party will remain ‘a formidable political force,’ stressing that even after the unfortunate demise of  Senator Johnson, the party will not deviate from its constructive engagement policy in addressing national issues for the betterment of the country and the people of Nimbaians at large.
