LWSC To Decentralize Project

The Liberia Water and Sewer Corporation (LWSC) has officially broken ground to construct a decentralized water supply project.

The project is estimated at US$285,000. It is located in Compound 3, Wee Statutory District, Grand Bassa County.

The groundbreaking ceremony, which took place recently was witnessed by local leaders, lawmakers, and other stakeholders.

LWSC Managing Director, Mohammed Ali said, the project aims to enhance access to safe, and reliable drinking water for the locals.

The initiative, Ali said, marks Phase One of the Water Supply Project for Buchanan, and Wayzohn cities.

The first phase, which has a budget of US$285,000, will focus on establishing 20 water stations capable of supplying water to 100 homes in Compound 3 in Wayzohn City.

Office of the President Pro Tempore of the Senate, Nyonblee Kangar-Lawrence, is spearheading the decentralized water supply initiative for Buchanan, and Wayzohn with financial support from the government.

Sen. Lawrence urged residents in the project area to fully support the initiative.
