Lofa County Head Coach Korvy Kollie was arrested and is currently detained on allegations of drug trafficking.
The incident, according to a release, occurred at the Orange Grove checkpoint, located between Margibi and Grand Bassa counties ahead of the this year’s County Sports Meet.
Multiple sources have confirmed the incident.
The arrest meanwhile, attracted widespread attention due to Kollie’s prominent status as a public sports figure.
Authorities have not yet disclosed specific detail about the type and quantity of drugs involved.
