LCIF Hails Clemenceau Urey:
As Foundation Reaches Historic US$52M Grant Milestone
The Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF) has recognized the leadership, generosity and humanitarian commitment of Lions leader Clemenceau Urey, as the global foundation celebrates a historic milestone in grant funding.
In a message addressed to Urey, LCIF Chairperson for the 2026/2027 fiscal year, Arvinder Pal Singh, expressed appreciation for Mr. Urey’s leadership within the Lions movement, generosity toward the foundation and dedication to humanitarian service.
Singh disclosed that LCIF awarded a record US$52M in grant funding during the last fiscal year, an achievement, he revealed, is the highest level of support provided by the foundation in more than three decades.
According to Singh, this milestone contribution was made possible through the continued generosity of Lions, Leos and other supporters of the foundation. He emphasized that donations to LCIF directly support grants and programs designed to fund life-changing projects and improve communities around the world.
“Thanks to committed Lions like you, LCIF reached a historic milestone last fiscal year by awarding US$52 million in grant funding,” the communication reads, while commending Urey and other supporters for helping the foundation expand its humanitarian impact.
The LCIF Chairperson also encouraged Urey to take on an ambassadorial role for the foundation by sharing with fellow Lions the positive impact of LCIF-funded initiatives and encouraging greater support for its mission.
At the same time, the LCIF top executive craved Urey to continue contributing toward the foundation’s work and encourage other Lions and supporters to join the effort, stressing that strong advocacy at the leadership level is essential to sustaining the momentum achieved during the previous fiscal year.
He indicated that continued commitment from Lions leaders and members will enable LCIF to maintain and expand its humanitarian programs, ensuring that more communities benefit from projects supported through the foundation.
The recognition comes as Lions Clubs International Foundation aims to build on its record-breaking grant performance and strengthen its capacity to respond to humanitarian needs globally through sustained contributions and service.
