As part of efforts to ensure that the public schools in Paynesville are probably monitored, Montserrado County District #5 Representative, Prescilla Abram Cooper, has sponsored and on Thursday, 16th October, 2025, submitted to the Plenary of the House of Representatives, a bill seeking the establishment of the Paynesville School System and to grant its chapter.
Rep. Cooper in communication stated that the Bill aims to streamline administration and enhance educational oversight in the City of Paynesville.
She also said Paynesville is very large and made of five districts that host lots of public schools, both elementary, junior and senior high schools; as such, it is very important that the city gets it own school system to manage its education affairs instead of being a part of the MCSS that is focused mostly on high schools in center Monrovia.
The Bill titled, “Paynesville School System 2025,” she said, seeks to create an autonomous body responsible for managing primary and secondary public schools within the City of Paynesville.
At the same time, the House of Representatives has mandated its Committees on Education and Judiciary to review and report on the proposed Bill aimed at establishing the Paynesville School System within two weeks.
The House’s decision signals a swift move toward potentially restructuring Paynesville’s public education framework, with the join/t committee expected to scrutinize the proposal and submit its findings promptly.
