Koijee Calls For Deputy Police Inspector General Dismissal
Jefferson Koijee, Secretary-General of the Congress for Democratic Change (CDC), is calling for the immediate dismissal of Deputy Inspector General for Operations Nelson Freeman from the Liberia National Police (LNP). Koijee, speaking at a press conference on Thursday, accused Freeman of undermining the integrity of the LNP and called for his removal to improve the force’s efficiency and credibility. Koijee criticized Freeman’s conduct, stating, “The character of Nelson Freeman does not reflect the true values of the LNP. We cannot have someone in such a crucial position continually displaying unlawful behavior. If the LNP is to succeed, Police 102 must be dismissed.” He acknowledged the government’s efforts to enhance the professionalism of the police but argued that such efforts are compromised by individuals like Freeman, who he claims tarnish the force’s reputation. Koijee emphasized, “There are many competent officers within the police force, but those who fail to uphold the true nature of the Liberian police should be dismissed to ensure effective crime-fighting.” He described Freeman as unscrupulous and asserted that retaining him would provoke and endanger ordinary citizens. Additionally, Koijee praised the Supreme Court’s recent ruling in the case of Cllr. Gloria Musu Scott and others, which cleared Scott of involvement in the death of Charloe Musu. K He criticized Stanton Witherspoon for allegedly politicizing the case and using his media platform to spread false information. Koijee stated that Witherspoon’s actions were inappropriate and suggested that divine retribution would come for spreading falsehoods and misinformation about his involvement in the case. In response, Stanton Witherspoon took to Facebook to question Koijee’s moral authority to serve as Secretary-General of the CDC. By: Perry Zordyu/ Lib Latest News231
