The Kimbo Foundation has provided L$50,000 toward tuition assistance for 14 students attending schools within the Muslim Community in Gbarnga, Bong County.

The provision is to ease the financial burden on families, and support access to education.

The money was presented recently to Morris A. H. Sackor by a delegation that Foundation’s chairman, Isaiah D. S. Karmo heads. The event was hosted on behalf of the Chief Executive Officer Mar Kimbo Marcus.

The contribution represents part of the L$125,500 commitment to cover tuition costs for the selected students, leaving an outstanding balance of L$75,500.

The Foundation made the commitment following an appeal from Sackor, who sought assistance for students facing difficulties meeting their tuition obligations.

Karmo said, the Foundation will provide the remaining L$75,500 in the coming weeks in fulfilment of the promised.

The 14 beneficiaries are enrolled at Al-Usaimey Heritage Arabic and English High School, Islamic Solidarity English and Arabic Senior High School, Liberia Muslim Youth Association, and Home of Quran and Hadith Arabic and English Elementary School.

Karmo said, the intervention forms part of the ongoing educational support for young people in Electoral District #3, and other communities in Gbarnga.

He encouraged the students to take their education seriously, and make good use of the opportunity.

Sackor, who received the money, thanked Kimbo Marcus, and the Foundation for responding to his appeal. He described the assistance as timely, “because of the short notice surrounding my request.”

Sackor has meanwhile, planned to pay the selected students’ tuition fees, and submit the receipts to the Foundation to ensure transparency and accountability in the use of the funds.
