More than 357 students attending the New Totota Public School are facing difficult learning conditions.
The condition has worsened to the extent that some of the students now sit on bare floor, while classes are conducted at the local Assembly of God Church; a school, which permanent building remains under construction.
The situation has triggered an urgent appeal from the school administration for support to complete the facility before the next academic term.
The unfinished building is needed to accommodate the growing number of students, and provide them with a safer, and more suitable environment for learning.
The administration said, the temporary arrangement at the church has created challenges for students, and teachers, particularly the limited classroom space, and inadequate seating.
Some students are reportedly forced to sit on the floor, or bare ground during lessons, conditions the administration says, are not suitable for effective teaching, and learning.
School authorities said, progress has already been made on the construction project, with zinc, roofing materials, and some wood reportedly provided for the building.
However, they said, additional construction materials, and financial resources are urgently needed to complete the structure.
The administration has meanwhile, appealed to the government, philanthropists, businesses, parents, former students, community members, and other well-wishers to contribute for the school to be completed.
Authorities said, timely support could enable construction work to continue, and help move students from the temporary church edifice into a permanent facility.
