A devastating fire has destroyed the home of Pastor John Tweh in Sarbo, Sweaken City, Electoral District #3, leaving the family with nothing but their lives.
The incident which occurred over the weekend, engulfed the 3-bedroom, 1-living room house, burning it to the ground along with all household belongings.
Daniton Quayee, a health worker at the Sarbo Health Center who responded to the scene, said the fire started while Pastor Tweh was attempting to make fire using gasoline.
“Pastor Tweh came into contact with gasoline while trying to start a fire,” Quayee explained.
“The gasoline allegedly ignited instantly, and the flames spread rapidly through the house before anyone could control it.”
Neighbors rushed to the scene but were unable to salvage anything due to how fast the fire spread.
All furniture, clothes, documents, food supplies, and personal items inside the house were completely destroyed.
Despite the heavy loss, Pastor Tweh said he was thankful no one was hurt.
“I thank God that my wife, my children, and I are alive,” Pastor Tweh told residents who gathered to support the family.
“We have lost everything in the house, but God spared our lives. That is what matters most.”
Community members in Sarbo have begun mobilizing support for the pastor’s family, calling on well-wishers, church members, and the county leadership to assist.
