Fears Of Ritualistic Activities In Wee Statutory District Alarmed

Residents of Wee Statutory District, Grand Bassa County, are expressing deep concern following reports of suspected ritualistic activities in their area. The troubling claims have led to a heightened sense of fears and calls for immediate action from local authorities.In recent weeks, reports have surfaced of unusual gatherings, unexplained disappearances, and rumors of ritualistic practices. These reports have caused significant anxiety, with many residents taking precautions to safeguard their families, particularly keeping children close. The community’s alarm was voiced strongly at a meeting held in Tower Street Community on September 9, 2024. At the gathering, residents shared disturbing accounts of night-time activities involving individuals in strange attire performing inexplicable rituals. The eerie experiences have contributed to widespread unease among families. John Barchue, a leader in the Tower Street Community, voiced the collective frustration: “We cannot sleep at night. We hear unusual sounds and see strange people moving in the dark. We fear for our children and families.” Local authorities have responded to the growing concerns. Inspector Peter Thomas, Chairman of the Joint Security in the district, assured residents that the situation is being closely monitored.  He promised that investigations will be conducted in collaboration with local officials and emphasized the importance of community vigilance. As authorities work to address these alarming reports, the people of Wee Statutory District are hopeful for a swift resolution to their concerns and a return to safety and normalcy in their community. However, it was gathered that the district Lawmaker Alfred H. Flomo had previously communicated with Liberia National Police – LNP Informing them about the many deaths.
