District #2 Youth Poll Opens

The electoral process for the Bong County District #2 Youth Leadership, has officially commenced.

By that, election authorities have declared the race open.

They have called on all stakeholders to ensure a peaceful, transparent, and credible exercise.

Election Commissioner, Awalayah Miah, who made the announcement, confirmed that the nomination phase of the election has been successfully completed.

This means, the announcement has paved the way for qualified candidates to begin campaigning for various leadership positions.

Miah said, a total of 15 individuals initially submitted applications to contest the election.

Meanwhile, 10 candidates have been approved to participate in the upcoming polls after meeting the required qualifications.

Among those certified are two candidates contesting for the presidency. They are Jacob K. Kollie and Sundayboy S. Dunbar.

Both candidates were formally introduced during the official declaration ceremony.

They are expected to present their platforms to voters during the campaign period.

Mr. Miah announced that campaign activities officially began on June 9, and will continue through June 24, 2026.

As part of the process, a public debate has been scheduled for June 25 at 6: p.m. in Foloblah Town.

Election Day is scheduled for June 26, with voting expected to take place between 9: a.m. and 1: p.m. at designated voting centers.

Approximately 200 registered and verified voters will participate in the election.

The electorate comprises youth leaders, town representatives, female youth leaders and other recognized community stakeholders.
