An assessment of the area by In Profile Daily News Bong County Correspondent, Samuel Flomo, Jr. found residents expressing concern over a series of deaths reportedly recorded in and around Forquelleh Town in recent weeks.
According to information gathered during the visit, a woman, and her daughter reportedly died within a two-week period. Residents also reported two additional deaths during the following two weeks in nearby communities.
The reports have intensified anxiety among residents, particularly because the deaths occurred within a relatively short timeframe.
However, there is currently no official confirmation that the reported deaths are connected to one another, nor has any health authority confirmed the existence of a disease outbreak in the area.
Residents have nevertheless called on the Bong County Health Team, and other relevant health authorities to move quickly into the affected communities, assess the situation, and determine the possible causes of the deaths.
They want qualified medical, and public health personnel to conduct appropriate investigations, including determining whether infectious diseases, environmental factors, or other health-related conditions could be contributing to the reported fatalities.
