Former Commerce Minister, Madam Magdalene Ellen Dagoseh, has denied reports that she has planned to resign from the ruling Unity Party. She meanwhile, reaffirmed her loyalty to President Joseph Nyuma Boakai and the Party.

In a statement released on Tuesday, October 20, Madam Dagoseh described the reports circulating on social media, radio stations, and other media platforms as “false and misleading.”

Madam Dagoseh serves on the UP’s executive and coordinating committees.

She said, her commitment to the Party is rooted in its principles, and a long history of political service.

Madam Dagoseh also recalled the contributions of her husband, Senator Edward Dagoseh (deceased), who was one of the founding members of the Unity Party.

While addressing reports of a possible disagreement with Pres. Boakai, Madam Dagoseh said, “the President had done me no wrong, and that I continue to respect his leadership.”

“Pres. Boakai has done me no wrong. I will continue to hold His Excellency in the highest regard, and remain respectful to his leadership, and vision.”

Madam Dagoseh said, her current focus in Grand Bassa County contains the expansion of the humanitarian work of the Magdalene Ellen Dagoseh Foundation (MEDF).

She further explained how the foundation will continue supporting vulnerable people, empowering women and young people, and assisting disadvantaged communities.

She insisted that her humanitarian activities should not be misinterpreted as a withdrawal from active politics, or a change in her loyalty to the Unity Party.

She also reaffirmed her support for Pres. Boakai’s ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development. Madam DDagoseh has meanwhile, called on members of the Party, journalists, and the public to verify information before sharing it to others.

She urged Unity Party partisans to promote unity, peace, reconciliation, and mutual respect as they support the government and its development priorities.
