Cuttington University has joined the global observance of World Teachers’ Day with a special celebration recognizing the vital contributions of teachers, and educators to society, academic development, and national progress.

The program, held at the university’s main campus in Suakoko District, Bong County, brought together members of the university’s faculty community to reflect on the important role educators play in shaping students, and preparing them to contribute meaningfully to their country.

Dr. Rosemarie Terez-Santos, Associate Vice President for Research, Assessment and Faculty Development organized the event.

The ceremony provided an opportunity for faculty members to recognize the dedication, commitment, and professional responsibilities of teachers, who worked behind the scene and provided students with knowledge, skills, and guidance.

World Teachers’ Day is observed annually to highlight the importance of educators, and to recognize their contributions to the development of quality education around the world.

The occasion also provides an opportunity for institutions to reflect on the challenges facing teachers, and the need for continued investment in education.

At Cuttington University, the celebration focused on the contributions of faculty members to teaching, learning, research, mentorship, and the development of students.

Participants said, teachers serve an important role beyond the classroom, helping students develop critical thinking, discipline, leadership abilities, and a sense of responsibility toward their communities.

The gathering also highlighted the relationship between strong educators, and the development of effective educational institutions.

Faculty members contribute not only to students’ academic growth, but also to research, community engagement, and the preparation of future professionals.

The observance comes at a time when educators continue to face demands associated with improving learning outcomes, and preparing students for an increasingly changing society.

Through the celebration, Cuttington University reaffirmed the importance of recognizing educators, and creating an environment where faculty members can continue to contribute effectively to academic and national development.

The event recognized teachers as important contributors to the advancement of education, and the preparation of future generations.

The celebration further underscored the university’s commitment to faculty development, and the promotion of quality education, research, and academic excellence.

For members of the CU community, World Teachers’ Day served as a reminder that the work of educators extends beyond imparting knowledge, as teachers help shape the values, abilities, and aspirations of the next generation.
