As the Civil Service Agency has announced a national credential audit across all 104 spending entities, the Campaigners for Academic Crimes Court in Liberia (CACC) has commended the Government of Liberia (GOL) and the Civil Service Agency (CSA) for initiating such idea. According to CACC, it is a significant step towards eliminating academic fraud and fake degrees. Meanwhile, the Academic Crimes Court Campaigners group wants the audit to be extended to political appointees and suggests that an independent panel of experts oversee the process to ensure impartiality. At the same time,, CACC urges the CSA to establish a comprehensive framework for the audit, encompassing fraud detection, data collection, and degree verification, while advocating for transparency by publicly naming individuals found with fraudulent credentials.
