AN OPEN LETTER TO PRESIDENT-ELECT BOAKAI

Dear President-elect Joseph N. Boakai,

I’m writing to wish you the utmost success on your historic election as the President-elect of Liberia. Your victory marks a significant milestone in the country’s democratic journey, and I applaud your commitment to democracy and the rule of law.

Furthermore, I commend the outgoing President for graciously accepting the election results, demonstrating a laudable spirit of statesmanship and dedication to the democratic process. This act has undoubtedly strengthened Liberia’s democratic foundation.

As you prepare to take office, I urge you to prioritize a comprehensive audit of the outgoing administration to ensure accountability and transparency. This will foster trust in governance and set a precedent for future administrations. Additionally, it focuses on strengthening the rule of law, which is critical to promoting justice, stability, and economic growth.

Of particular importance is the need to reform the Liberian National Police (LNP) to depoliticize the institution and enhance its professionalism. This will boost public trust and create a safer, more secure environment for all Liberians.

Lastly, I encourage you to honor your campaign promises, particularly in road infrastructure development and agricultural advancement. These initiatives hold great potential for stimulating economic growth, improving livelihoods, and enhancing the overall well-being of the Liberian people.

In conclusion, I offer my highest commendations on your election, and I trust that your leadership will steer Liberia toward a brighter future. I look forward to seeing your vision unfold, and I remain confident that, together, we can build a more prosperous, democratic, and harmonious nation.

Congratulations once again, Mr. President-elect.

Sincerely,

T-Max Blayon Barlue

Liberian
