After years of anticipation and repeated appeals from residents, the long-awaited Kparyah Clinic in Barquelleh Clan, Bong County, was officially dedicated on May 31, 2026.
The event marks a step to improve healthcare access for people in the area.
Bong County Electoral District #3 Representative Marvin Cole initiated the eight-bedroom health facility, which was formally turned over for operation during the May 31st ceremony that was attended by local authorities, health officials, community leaders and residents.
For many, the dedication represented the fulfillment of a promise first made during the 2017, electoral campaign when locals appealed to Rep. Cole for a healthcare facility to serve the growing population of the clan.
Cole recalled the challenges that delayed the project’s implementation.
He recalled how the need for a clinic was evident to the extent that Kparyah did not initially meet the Ministry of Health’s catchment area requirements.
Despite the setback, Cole remained committed to ensure that residents eventually received access to quality healthcare services closer to their communities.
“The people requested a clinic during the 2017 elections, because they were facing serious difficulties accessing healthcare. Although there were challenges regarding eligibility requirements, we continued working until this project became a reality.”
Cole said, the clinic was originally founded and constructed through efforts led by his office before he received additional support from the Bong County Health Team, which later completed the facility.
Rep. Cole acknowledged that the completion of the clinic was made possible through contributions from his office along with additional county support.
He praised government, the Bong County Health Team, and stakeholders for their collaboration, which made the facility operational.
The dedication of the Kparyah Clinic is being viewed as a major healthcare milestone for Barquelleh Clan, and a significant investment in the wellbeing of local communities.
For residents, the facility symbolizes more than a building it represents improved access to healthcare, renewed hope for better medical services, and the realization of a promise made nearly a decade ago.
