CDC CLARIFIES ON CAMPAIGN COMMITTEE

78

The Coalition for Democratic Change has clarified recent statements appointing Amb. Jeremiah Slunteh as chairman of its victory campaign committee, acknowledging that said pronouncement conflicts with an earlier decision announced on 17 July 2023 at the party’s ‘Thank You’ program, which drew hundreds of thousands of supporters and sympathizers.

The party said it reaffirms support for that earlier statement released by its standard-bearer H.E. Dr George M. Weah, who is and remains the indefatigable CHAIRMAN of The CDC 2023 VICTORY CAMPAIGN

COMMITTEE.

At the same time, the party recognizes the inarguable relevance of Amb. Jeremiah Slunteh’s role in its progressive campaign objectives, especially in the quest to accomplish a realistic 1st-round victory agenda.

In a press release, the party says, while regretting this slight error, discussions surrounding the important role of this respected statesman and senior partisan (Amb. Slunteh) is ongoing, as the party remains obliged to avail details to the public as soon as a consensus is built.

Additionally, the party has withdrawn Sen. Wellington Geevon Smith from its list of campaign advisors. Sen. Smith, whose inclusion was based on recommendation from a stalwart of the CDC Rivercess Chapter, has asked to be removed.
