A 12-member jury at Criminal Court ‘E’ has convicted 46-year-old Grawfar Tokpah, alias Augustine Tokpa Yah.
Tokpa is convicted for statutory rape of a 12-year-old girl.
He was found guilty on September 14, before Judge Wesseh A. Wesseh at the Temple of Justice.
Prosecutors said, Tokpah abused his access to the child in the same house at Mamba Point; lured her into his room to watch movies while her mother was away.
The incident occurred several times between 2023, and 2024.
Evidence included a police statement where Tokpah admitted to the act, and a JFK Hospital medical report dated May 7, 2024.
The defense argued that the prosecution failed to prove the case beyond a reasonable doubt, and objected to emotional arguments.
Tokpah now awaits the announcement of his sentence.
