The Federation of Liberian Youth (FLY), has pushed for greater participation in whatever government -run developmental program.

They made the statement at a constituency dialogue meeting hosted with young people from every part of River Gee County.

The meeting was held at the Fish Town Community Hall. It brought together youth leaders, student representatives, and representatives from nearby districts in the county.

The dialogue was to create a platform for young people to openly discuss pressing issues affecting them, share ideas, and promote unity, collaboration, and active participation in youth development activities in the county.

FLY Regional Coordinator, Max-Lord Handson, expressed appreciation to the young people for attending the meeting in large numbers.

Handson commended River Gee youth for their commitment. He encouraged them to put aside their differences, and work together for the common good, and advancement of youth in the county.

He spoke of FLY remaining open, and willing to collaborate with all youth groups, and support meaningful initiatives to address challenges confronting young people.

Some of the challenges are named as unemployment, limited educational opportunities, and lack of participation in decision-making.

“FLY is here to work with you. We want to collaborate with young people in River Gee to address the issues that affect you.

FLY River Gee County Coordinator, Isaiah K. Nyenpan, said, FLY continues to work with various national, and local institutions, including government ministries, NGOs, and community-based organizations to create opportunities for some of the young people.

Nyenpan said, the organization is committed to reach out to young people in all parts of the county to ensure that their voices are heard, and their concerns are addressed at the national level.
