The National Elections Commission (NEC) on Wednesday, September 2, officially launched its five years (2026–2030) strategic plan.
The plan is a comprehensive roadmap to strengthen the electoral processes, and advance credible, transparent, inclusive, and sustainable elections.
The launch was held in the James M. Flomayan Hall at the NEC Headquarters in Monrovia.
The Plan represents the Commission’s vision, and strategic direction for the next five years, outlining key priorities, and interventions intended to enhance electoral administration, institutional effectiveness, stakeholder engagement, public confidence, and the overall integrity of the electoral process.
Developed with support from the UNDP Liberia Electoral Support Project (LESP) through funding from the European Union, the Embassy of Sweden in Monrovia, and Ireland, the Plan underscores NEC’s commitment to the principles of integrity, transparency, inclusion, impartiality, professionalism, confidentiality, and independence.
It provided a clear framework for strengthening institutional capacity while ensuring that electoral processes remain responsive, accessible, credible, and trusted by citizens, and stakeholders.
The launch brought together representatives of the government, development partners, political parties, civil society organizations, the media, and other electoral stakeholders.
The NEC invited development partners, electoral stakeholders, members of the media yesterday’s launch of the Plan.
