World Hope Int’l Holds Disability Awareness

World Hope International has conducted a one-day stakeholder workshop to raise awareness about disability, and promote inclusion in workplaces, and communities.

The workshop was conducted in collaboration with the Office of Grand Kru County Electoral District #2 Representative, Jonathan Fonati Koffa.

It was held at the Barclayville City Hall with approximately 50 participants, including persons with disabilities, and members of the media.

The daylong engagement focused on strengthening public understanding of disability-related issues while encouraging stakeholders to promote dignity, equal opportunities, protection, and meaningful participation for persons with disabilities.

Koffa Media Officer, Emmanuel Koffa, expressed appreciation to World Hope International, its implementing partners, and supporting donors for organizing the workshop.

The lead facilitator, Jacob Doe, emphasized the need for communities to protect, and support persons with disabilities in all aspects of life.

Doe said, persons with disabilities deserve dignity, respect, protection, and equal opportunities in their communities, public spaces, workplaces, and other environments where they live and interact.

He further urged community members, institutions, and organizations to reject discrimination, and create environments where persons with disabilities can participate fully, and independently.

The workshop also encouraged stakeholders to identify practical ways of remove barriers that prevent persons with disabilities from accessing opportunities, and participating equally in community, and workplace activities.

Participants welcomed the initiative. They described the engagement as an important platform for increasing awareness about disability rights, and strengthening community efforts to promote inclusion.
