Bong Model School has appealed for urgent government intervention to address the transportation difficulty confronting its students.
Meanwhile, the administration has called for the provision of a school bus to ensure safe and reliable travel for the learners.
The Principal, Madam Vasheila Siryon Allison, made the appeal shortly the school’s first annual closing ceremony was held at its campus along the Lofa Road in Gbarnga, Bong County.
Madam Allison described the lack of a school bus as one of the most pressing challenges the school has encountered.
The situation now forced many of the students commute from communities as far as the Fareast and the checkpoint residential area.
The transportation challenge has placed an additional burden on both the students and parents, with some learners leaving their homes very early in the morning, and returning late just to attend classes.
Madam Allison said, a dedicated school bus would significantly improve punctuality, attendance, and students’ overall academic performance.
She appealed directly to the county administration, and members of the Legislative Caucus to prioritize the school’s request by providing a bus that would serve the growing student population.
She said, such support would demonstrate a meaningful investment in education and the future of the county.
