The Civil Service Agency (CSA) has officially broken ground for the construction of its regional headquarters in Gbarnga, Bong County.

The move marks the expansion of government services, and a renewed push for decentralization.

The groundbreaking ceremony took place on Friday, June 19, 2026, at the Gbarnga Administrative Building, and was performed by Bong County Senator Prince K. Moye.

Moye also serves as chairman of Bong County Legislative Caucus, and chairman of the Senate Committee on Ways, Means, Finance, and Budget.

He praised the CSA for extending its operations beyond Monrovia, and bringing essential public services closer to civil servants.

Moye described the initiative as a major step to improve efficiency, accessibility, and fairness in public administration.

He further pledged the Legislature’s continued support for the project, noting that the Senate would work to ensure increased budgetary allocations to strengthen the Agency’s nationwide operations.

Sen. Moye also commended CSA Director-General Josiah F. Joekai for ongoing reforms focused on merit-based recruitment, professionalism and accountability to modernize the civil service system.

Bong County Superintendent, Loleyah Hawa Norris, welcomed the development and reaffirmed her administration’s full support.

Joekai said, the project will provide the same services currently offered at the Agency’s national headquarters.

He said, it will also ensure faster and more accessible service delivery for government workers.

The project is part of government’s decentralization agenda to strengthen institutions, and improve public sector efficiency.

Upon completion, the Gbarnga facility will serve civil servants in Bong, Nimba, and Lofa counties, while supporting training, coordination, and professional development.
