Grand Kru County Chief Education Officer (CEO), Josiah Sloh Nagbe, has praised students, teachers, parents, and education partners for a “successful, and well-coordinated examination process.”

Nagbe made the statement at the end of this year’s West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

He spoke after the final papers were administered on Wednesday, June 17.

Nagbe commended the county’s 12th grade candidates for exhibiting “discipline, maturity, and determination throughout the examination period.”

The students’ conduct, he said, reflected the hard-work and preparation invested by schools, teachers, and families over the years.

While celebrating the candidates, Nagbe reserved special recognition for teachers, who continue to serve under difficult conditions.

He said, despite financial constraints and limited resources, educators remain committed to shape the future of the young people.

Mr. Nagbe recognized sacrifices teachers often made, but remain critical to the growth and development of the education sector.

He also acknowledged parents for their unwavering support, which he described them as “indispensable partners” in the academic journey of every child.

He emphasized the need for parental involvement, and encouragement that would contribute to students’ success.

The successful conduct of this year’s examinations was further strengthened by support from local leaders, who responded to a fundraising appeal the county initiated before the exams began.

Among the contributors were Senator Albert Tugbe Chie and Senator Numene T. H. Bartekwa, who each donated L$400,000, while John Chie contributed L$70,000.

The funds were distributed among the eight high schools which assisted students during the examination period.
