Transport Refutes Speakers’ Removal Claim
The Ministry of Transport has categorically distanced itself from what it termed as “unfounded and malicious” allegations circulating on various media platforms as well as social media, that Minister Sirleaf R. Tyler used the Ministry’s account for cash-influencing leadership conflict at the House of Representatives.
In a release issued recently in Monrovia, the MOT asserted that the allegation against its Minister is baseless, and being widely spread by some self-proclaimed “blockers”, whose sole aim is to undermine the integrity of the Minister.
The release has therefore urged the public to remain vigilant against what it described as “harmful misinformation”, which seeks to exploit and tarnish Minister Tyler and the Ministry’s reputation for ulterior motives.
“Such deceptive narratives jeopardize the Ministry’s integrity and distract the work of Liberia’s development.
Accordingly, it is important to clarify that Minister Tyler operates within the Executive Branch of government and holds no legislative power, as his sole focus is on generating greater revenue for the benefit of every Liberian, adding that those malicious attacks with not deter him.
The release has at the same time encouraged Liberians to seek out credible sources of information and reject the tactics of those who aim to sow discord for personal gain.
The release concluded by stating that the Ministry of Transport stands firmly behind its Minister, thus calling for unity and constructive dialogue in the governance process of the country, adding “let us work together to focus on a brighter future for Liberia”.
