The House of Representatives has ordered specialized committees to submit overdue investigative reports within one week, warning that persistent delays threaten legislative accountability.
The decision followed Thursday’s reading of three communications from Speaker Richard Nagbe Koon addressing outstanding committee assignments and overdue reports.
According to a Press Bureau release, Plenary gave the specialized committee investigating the alleged issuance of substandard licenses involving Liberia Traffic Management and the Inspector General of the Liberia National Police one week to report.
The House also gave Rep. Musa Bility’s specialized committee one week to submit its findings on concerns involving Global Trading and Maritime Solution, raised by Representative J. Clarence Banks of Grand Bassa County District Two.
In a separate action, the House directed the Chief Clerk to notify the Senate about the status of House bills previously forwarded to that chamber for concurrence.
