As part of efforts to further improve the quality of education at his county community college, Sinoe County District #3 Representatives, Alex S. Noah, has communicated with the plenary of the House of Representatives, requesting increment in Sinoe County Community College budget in 2027.
Submitting his request, Rep. Noah said the college has operated from the Sinoe Multilateral High School building since its first student intake in 2017.
He noted that the college received US$694,970 in the 2026 national budget, with approximately 90 to 95 percent reportedly allocated to recurring expenditures, leaving limited resources for infrastructure development.
He also argued that increased funding would enable the college to construct its own facility, improve learning conditions, and strengthen access to tertiary education in Sinoe County, where it remains the only higher learning institution.
The lawmaker further urged Plenary to give the proposal serious consideration, emphasizing that adequate educational infrastructure and essential resources were necessary to improve learning quality and support the county’s students
Meanwhile, the House of Representatives has forwarded to its leadership a request to increase the Sinoe County Community College’s proposed 2027 budget from its current allocation to US$1.2 million to support construction of the institution’s own campus.
