Members of the Rubber Planters Association of Liberia (RPAL) have recognized authorities at the Ministry of Agriculture (MoT) for “stabilizing rubber prices, and restoring transparency in the sector.”

By that, RPAL say the Ministry has demonstrated a significant milestone in ongoing efforts to revitalize the rubber industry.

The recognition was conferred at a ceremony held in Todee District, Montserrado County, where farmers and stakeholders gathered to acknowledge the “turning point in the sector.”

Agriculture Minister Dr. J. Alexander Nuetah, who received the honor, attributed the achievement to the leadership and vision of President Joseph Nyuma Boakai.

Nuetah reaffirmed the administration’s strong commitment to address longstanding challenges in the rubber industry, and improve the livelihoods of Liberian farmers.

“Every decision I make is triggered or approved by the President. He understands this sector; not just on paper, but from experience. He has seen the problems, and he expects us to solve them.”

Dr. Nuetah said, President Boakai’s directive is clear and uncompromising; to fix the sector and ensure that it delivers real benefits to farmers.

“The President is concerned about what is happening in this sector, and has therefore, given us clear instructions to fix it and ensure that farmers benefit.”

Nuetah said, government’s intervention to regulate and stabilize rubber price forms part of a broader reform agenda to restore confidence, improve market access, and create a more equitable system for smallholder farmers.

RPAL’s government recognition was driven primarily by these efforts, which have introduced fairness and predictability into a sector that had long operated without clear pricing structures.

RPAL President, Madam Wilhemina Mulbah Siaway, praised government leadership, and the tangible impact of the reforms on farmers.
