Rescue Team Remains Committed To Youth Empowerment By: Feona Benson Kollie
Following claims and counterclaim over whether or not the Rescue Team of the Boakai’s administration is on course with its mandate of meeting the needs of the Liberians people, especially the youthful generation as they portray during their campaign process, the Assistant Minister for Special Services at Ministry of State and Presidential Affairs, George T. Marshall, has again reassured the Team’s commitment, saying that it remain committed to improving the lives of Liberians across the country. He made the reassurance Monday in Monrovia when he was honored by a civil society group under the banner the Citizens United For Better Liberia in collaboration with the Liberian Media Network for his selfless contributions to the youthful society. Mr. Marshall told the gathering that, though there are some challenges, President Joseph Boakai is doing everything possible to meet up with his promises he as mad over the years. He also noted that the mission of the Rescue Team is to improve the lives of Liberians, seeking to make a Liberia a middle class country through the empowerment of youth, improving agriculture activities, education, health, among others, citing that it is upon this backdrop that the president, since his ascendency has become interacting with world leaders to ensure Liberians get the best they deserve. The Assistant minister further said his honor was not just ordinary but also a clear indication of President Boakai’s commitment to youth empowerment, stating that if President Boakai has not given him the opportunity to serve, his services to humanity could have never be observed. He also explained that though the Rescue Team is currently faced with lots of challenges, in less than a year, the government is trying to do everything possible to ensure the people get the best they deserve, maintaining that it is why Liberians are now experiencing some improvement in the drop of petroleum products, agriculture products, the improvement in youth empowerment and employment, among others. Minister Marshall disclosed that President Boakai’s recent visit to Sierra Leone was not just ordinary as other portray it to be, but intoned that it was intended to strengthen ties between the two countries, which according to him, will positively affect the lives of Liberians, through trade, agriculture, health, education among others.
