Rep. Toles Seeks Death Penalty For Drug Dealers

The issue of the Narcotic drug is gradually taking over the country day by day to the extent that it is damaging thousands of young people who are considered future leaders of the country.

This issue of Narcotic drugs has alarmed to the extent that Montserrado County Electoral District #8 Representative, Prince A. Toles, wants a death penalty bill for drug dealers.

The Montserrado County lawmaker expressed concern about the harm drugs abuse is having on the country and the way it is damaging thousands of young children across the country.

 Rep. Toles stressed the need for harsh punishment for bringing harmful drugs into the country.

According to him, the too much influx of drugs in the country poses serious security threat to the country. The Montserrado County District #8 lawmaker expressed deep frustration over the state of drug-related activities in Liberia and the way it has severely disrupted communities.

The lawmaker made the statement recently in Monrovia at a News Conference. Representative Toles emphasized that those that are importer of drugs and causing thousands of young people damaging themselves, stating that if they are arrested in the act should face capital punishment.

He said the deadly substance is taking over the country and it needs the concern of every stakeholder and National actors to fight drug out of Liberia. According to him, the young people are dying as the result of the drug they are taking in.

Rep. Toles stated that those individuals taking in drugs also have the right to live. The lawmaker further that the proposed bill he is about to introduce at the Legislature will be in the interest of the Liberian people.

He stated that his proposed bill if introduce he will tirelessly work with his fellow lawmakers until is pass into law.

Representative Toles stated that the drug crisis is more than a civil war in Liberia. “This issue about drug is very serious, emphasized Rep. Toles. The lawmaker proposed bill has spark out serious debate amongst people across the country.
