How Can I Thank Him?

0

I don’t know how to praise Him,

I don’t know how to beat His drum,

I don’t know how to sing His song,

I don’t know how to ring His mighty name,

I don’t know how to salute His crown.

I simply don’t know how to thank Him.

He helped me climb the mountains,

He helped me cross the troubled waters,

He helped me safely escape the lions’ dens,

He helped me see through the darkness,

He gave me spiritual eyes to detect danger,

He fueled my hope in the face of hopelessness,

And He kept me standing when I had every reason to fall.

Tears fill my eyes whenever I look way back—

Back to those days of roaming rebellious sharks,

Back to those days when war was on the stage,

Back to those days when death was very near,

Back to those days when peace could barely hold,

When fear walked freely through the streets,

And tomorrow was never promised.

How can I thank Him

For carrying me through the fire?

How can I praise Him

For bringing me through the storm?

How can I repay Him

For every breath He preserved?

I may not know how to beat His drum,

I may not know how to sing His song,

I may not know how to praise Him enough—

But I know this:

I am still here.

And my life shall forever be

A testimony of His mercy,

A testimony of His protection,

A testimony of His grace.

How can I thank Him?

I will thank Him with my life.
