NPA Managing Director Summoned At Capitol Building

Members of the House of Representatives have invited the Managing Director of the National Port Authority (NPA), Sekou Hussein Dukuly, to appear before Plenary on Thursday, 11 July to provide clarity to complex and dangling figures in revenue and expenditure at the Port of Monrovia. Plenary reached the decision Tuesday, 9 July during the 16th Day Sitting of the 2nd Quarter of the first session based on a communication from Rep. Frank Saah Foko of Electoral District #9, Montserrado County. According to Foko’s communication, he claimed that the Manading Director Dukuly made conflicting accounts of over US$14 million revenue generated in five months under his administration as well as contributing US$ 2 million towards the 2024 National Budget. Rep. Foko also asked his colleagues to invite Mr. Dukuly to further provide clarity on statement that the NPA Management under Administration of Former President George M. Weah contributed US$ 4 million during the tenure of Pres. Weah. Following reading and floor debate on the instrument, a motion proffered by Rep. Clarence Gahr of Electoral District #5, Magibi County was accepted and endorsed that the NPA Boss appear Thursday, 11 July before the full body of the House of Representatives.
