Media Group Lashes At LMA’s Elements
In a strongly worded statement, the Independent Media Group for Accountability and Transparency (IMGAT), has launched a besmear campaign reportedly undertaken by certain self-proclaimed elements of the Liberia Marketers Association (LMA).
IMGAT claimed that the individuals aimed to tarnish the hard-earned reputation of current officials of entity ahead of a pending leadership elections.
The group said the so-called self-proclaimed elements within the LMA have embarked on using the airwaves to malign both elected and appointed officials of the entity with a diabolical intent to plunge it into chaos and obstruct the pending leadership elections.
The elements in their recent insinuation, and outburst that were marred by “deception and intentional lies,” defamed current officials of the LMA, claimed that the officials have violated the entity’s constitution, thereby refusing to submit to an internal audit.
Something, the media group described as “scam, baseless, with no truth, but designed to plunged the LMA into elections disputes.”
The media group observes that the campaign was orchestrated to muddy the good works and achievements, the LMA Board members; with particular reference to Madam Lusu K. Crawford, Chairperson of the board have achieved over the years.
Madam Crawford, the statement said, remains focused on seeing massive transformations at the entity.
The media group finds out that the 15 counties; the highest decision-making body of the LMA, fully supports the schedule for the entity’s pending elections process as decided by a special committee comprised of stakeholders in the counties.
Government recently set up the committee to conduct the election on March 28, 2026.
This decision marked a shift from the previous schedule adopted by the entity’s national convention in 2013, to conduct the LMA election in February, at the end of every election term.
The media group further indicates that its findings show that at no time, the current officials of the LMA refused to submit to audit or attempted to shield any official decision or activities carried out by the current LMA officials during their term in office.
The media group therefore, strongly admonished the LMA so-called elements to desist from this diabolical act or face the full of the law.
