Man, Kills 19-Year-Old Girlfriend

A cloud of grief, and outrage has descended over the Omega Oldfield Block Community after a 19-year-old woman was murdered, and secretly buried in a nearby swamp.

The incident has left residents demanding justice, and intensified the search for the prime suspect.

The suspect is being identified as Augustine T. Lendeh, popularly known as “T-Boy” and also referred to in community accounts as Augustine Tengbeh.

Tengbeh is accused of killing his 19-year-old girlfriend inside his residence before he allegedly concealed her body in a swamp located near the property.

Meanwhile, police have arrested him following a thorough manhunt.

Tengbeh was arrested in Sierra Leone, according to Police source.

His arrest in Sierra Leone followed a joint operation by the Liberia National Police (LNP) Interpol Section, and the Sierra Leone Police Criminal Investigation Department (CID).

Authorities said, extradition proceedings are underway to return Tengbeh to Liberia to face trial.

He fled the country after he killed his girlfriend; an incident, which sparked public concern when they called for justice.

The victim’s mother had alleged that Tengbeh killed her daughter inside his house, and buried her body in a nearby swamp.

The victim Mother narrated how the two had been in a relationship for about three years, and that Tengbeh had previously introduced himself, and his parents to the family.

Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding Dearest Paye’s death as efforts are made to return the suspect to Liberia for prosecution.

According to the victim’s mother, her daughter had been in a relationship with the suspect for several years.

She said, the relationship was well known to both families, and disclosed how approximately three years ago, Tengbeh formally introduced himself, and his parents to her family.

This was an indication that the relationship, though not legalized, both the family members recognized them.

The grieving mother alleges that her daughter was killed inside the Tengbeh’s home before her body was horribly buried in a nearby swamp.

Investigators are treating the case as a “suspected murder.” Authorities have not publicly released additional details regarding the circumstances surrounding the young woman’s death as investigations continue.

Residents say, the suspect disappeared shortly after the incident, and has not been seen since. Community sources further disclosed that Tengbeh’s father is being detained at the Liberia National Police’s Omega Depot in Zone 5 as part of the ongoing investigation.

Police have yet to announce any charges against him.

Community Demands Justice

The killing of Dearest has sent shockwaves throughout the Omega Community, where residents say, they are yet to comprehend circumstances surrounding the death of the young woman.

As investigators work to establish the full facts of the case, community members have called on anyone with credible information about.

The investigation remains active, and authorities have said, the allegations against Tengbeh have not yet been tested in court.
