The Liberia National Police (LNP) has suspended Eriah G. Gbainyee of the Police Support Unit for two months without pay.
Gbainyee was suspended for “misconduct, culminating to violation of professional standards.”
According to an official communication dated Monday, September 7, the suspension was effected on Monday, August 4, following an investigation into an “ethical breach.”
Gbainyee was found wearing his Type “B” police uniform while reportedly sleeping inside a yellow tricycle parked along the street.
The LNP Human Resource said, the disciplinary action was taken in line with its administrative instructions on discipline, and professional standards.
Meanwhile, Gbainyee has been ordered to turn over all government-issued properties, including his uniform, badge, and identification card.
He is prohibited from identifying himself as a member of the LNP until otherwise ordered.
In a related development, LNP has lifted the suspension of eight other officers, who had previously faced disciplinary action for “unethical conduct.”
They have been identified as Patrolmen Murphyson K. Entsua, Musa S. Kamara, Marcus T. Tengbeh, Marian B. Cole, Alexander C. Weah, Solomon D. Chea, jr., Momodu S. Sanyon, and Jeremiah C. Kerdoe.
