Liberia National Police (NP) River Gee detachment, has officially lifted the temporary administrative ban on the Federation of Motorcycle and Tricycle Union, River Gee Chapter.
The restriction was placed on June 16, 2026, to restore order amid internal leadership disputes, and operational challenges within the union.
The latest development followed a reconciliation M-FOMTUL national executives Mohammed B. Sammeh initiated.
Sammeh had appointed new River Gee County Coordinator, effective July 23.
Through the reconciliation, Mohammed Aliu Bah, was elevated to regional coordinator for Grand Gedeh, River Gee, and Maryland counties.
At a July 21 press conference, Sammeh promised to unite members, strengthen discipline, and work with LNP, and local authorities to improve safety, and professionalism within the union.
The County Police Commander, Theophilus Toe Togbah, welcomed the transition.
Togbah urged all operators to obey traffic laws, and support the new leadership.
Residents say, the lifting of the ban will improve mobility, public confidence, and cooperation between operators, police, and the community.
