IG Coleman’s Recusal Campaign From Drug Cartel Investigation Intensifies

 Joshua D.K Better, a prominent resident  of Montserrado County Electoral District #2, has joined calls for the recusal of Police Inspector General Gregory Coleman, amidst mounting demands for his prosecution.

Better highlighted the necessity of an independent investigation to ensure fairness and restore public trust in the police force.

He noted that the push for an independent investigation into Inspector General Coleman reflects rising public concern linked to the ongoing investigation into a $317 million drug scandal.

He further asserted that Coleman is conflicted in the drug investigation, and that his stepping aside would help preserve the integrity of law enforcement agencies.

In a statement made over the weekend, Better urged for a comprehensive and collaborative approach to address the escalating drug crisis, calling on all Liberians to unite behind government efforts to dismantle drug cartels.

Better who is poised to vie  for Representative seat in Montserrado County District #2, 2029, indicated that the nation’s struggle with drug-related offenses and underscored the importance of transparency and accountability within law enforcement.

He welcomed the arrest of former Vice President Jewel Howard Taylor, advocating for a speedy and fair trial. “If found guilty, let the law take its course. Conversely, if the government cannot substantiate its claims, it must be held accountable for any reputational damages,” he stated.

“Addressing the drug issue is not solely the government’s responsibility; it requires the collective effort of every citizen,” he added.

He commended the government of President Joseph Nyuma Boakai,  Sr. for its ongoing fight against drug trafficking and urged for robust community engagement and support for law enforcement initiatives as efforts continue to curb the drug trade affecting many neighborhoods across the country.
