Grand Bassa Lawmaker Criticizes Gov’t Over Yellow Machines’ Deal

169

Grand Bassa Electoral District #3 Representative Matthew Joe has sharply criticized the government’s handling of the much-anticipated “Yellow Machines,” which are earth-moving equipment intended for infrastructure projects. Joe has labeled the equipment’s arrival as “RIP,” interpreting it as “Rest In Peace.” On Monday, Representative Joe appeared on Radio Gbehzohn, expressing concerns about the government’s silence on the equipment’s status. He suggested that the lack of updates implies the initiative has effectively “died perpetually.” Earlier, Joe had described the process surrounding the machines as “419,” a term he uses to imply fraudulent or deceptive practices. His latest comments underscore ongoing frustrations and skepticism regarding the government’s transparency and effectiveness in managing public infrastructure projects. Rep. Joe is a member of the opposition block and a staunch supporter of the Congress for Democratic Change. By: Wroinbee Elton Tiah
