The Foundation for Youth Tranquility (FYT) has officially launched its four-year strategic plan for 2026-2030.
The program was celebrated under the theme: “Building a Culture of Transparency, Accountability, and Active Citizen Engagement for a Stronger Tomorrow.”
It brought together partners, members of the religious community, and media representatives.
In a conversation with journalists over the weekend in Monrovia, shortly after the launch, FYT Executive Director, Stanford A. Joe, II, disclosed that the initiative comprises the public interest, and accountability project.
Joe said, FYT’s aim and objectives focused on enhancing, and promoting a culture of good citizenship through civic education, engagement, and other programs.
He said, as part of the first phase of the project, FYT will engage with key stakeholders from both the private, and public sectors; conduct a series of radio shows, and explore resources to sustain the project.
Since it was established in 2014, FYT has collaborated with National Elections Commission, United Nations Development Program, Accountability Lab, and African Initiatives for Relief.
According to a release, the launched marks another step in the organization’s ongoing efforts to engage citizens, and help them focus more on their well-being through constructive engagement with key stakeholders in both the private, and public sectors.
Joe further noted that the institution aims to generate $US400, 000 in grants from partners, with 15,000 youthful Liberians expected to benefit from this initiative in five counties.
On the recruitment process, Joe disclosed that the organization will establish a team to build the capacities of individuals, who lacked knowledge in specific areas. Additionally, university students will be eligible to benefit from internship opportunities.
