I feel compelled to address the recent wave of baseless attacks and irresponsible statements made by Henry Pedro Costa on social media against our Vice President, Jeremiah Kpan Koung. It’s deeply disappointing and frustrating to see an individual like Costa, who has repeatedly demonstrated inconsistency, hypocrisy, and a complete lack of integrity, go so far as to undermine the reputation of a man who has worked tirelessly for the betterment of Liberia. Costa, in his desperation to remain politically relevant, has chosen to slander and spread lies about Vice President Koung. His criticisms are not based on any factual evidence or a genuine desire for political improvement, but rather stem from his own ego, envy, and bitterness after being rejected by President Boakai. His narrative is nothing but a series of fabrications aimed at tarnishing the character of a respected leader. It is not lost on us that Costa has criticized and insulted leaders like President Weah for years, only to flip his position and campaign for him when it suited his personal gain. Now, he aims to undermine Vice President Koung, who has done nothing but serve with humility and a deep commitment to Liberia’s progress. Costa’s accusations of incompetence against Vice President Koung and other public figures are unsubstantiated and reveal a man who is driven more by personal jealousy than by a desire to serve Liberia. No matter how much Costa tries to denigrate VP Koung, he will never reach the level of grace and integrity that the Vice President has attained. VP Koung has built his reputation through years of service to Liberia and has been a beacon of humility and dedication. His grace, wisdom, and love for the Liberian people cannot be shaken by the petty attacks of someone like Costa, who seems more focused on tearing others down than building up the country. Costa’s behavior reflects a desperate attempt to gain attention and financial gain, and it is clear to the Liberian people that he has no interest in true leadership. It’s time for him to stop spreading lies, humble himself, and focus on becoming a better person. His envy and arrogance are holding him back, and no matter how much he tries to drag others down, he will not reach the heights that Vice President Koung has already reached. We, the people, see through Costa’s desperation and his unworthy attempts to create division. Let this be a reminder to him: No amount of slander or deceit will ever erase the integrity and hard work that VP Koung has demonstrated throughout his career. To Henry Pedro Costa: Stop fighting God’s grace in others. Humble yourself, and maybe then you’ll find the peace and wisdom that seems to be lacking in your life.
