The alarming wave of suspicious deaths across the country especially four recent death incidents within Lofa County has caused Lofa  District #5 Representative, Augustine B. Chiewolo, to  on Tuesday, communicated with the plenary of the House of Representatives to invite heads of security apparatus to appear before full plenary  to provide clarity on the matter and  find ways to curtail said situation. In his communication, he said the issue of suspicious deaths across the country is very alarming, making specific reference to  recent four deaths  in Lofa County. Rep. Chiewolo said for the past three months, there have been reports of arbitrary killings of innocent citizens in Lofa County, attributing said deaths to alleged ritualistic act, especially in Lofa  District #4 which according to him, have led to the destruction of public properties. He maintained that with these inhumane acts occurring in his county, the citizens are currently living in fears on a daily basis, and cannot go or do their normal business. He said the current situation, if nothing is done, it has the propensity to impede the growth and development of the county and also questioned the ability of security apparatus functions in the area. The Lofa County lawmaker also told his colleagues that in January of this year, an incident involving a woman named Madam Moyoungor Keleko of Dogumai Town was allegedly murdered while returning from her farm, including other alleged situations of the death of a 16- year- old boy who allegedly died in police custody, among other suspicious deaths, as well as other security associated issues that need quick attention. He said upon this backdrop  he has decided to write a communication in order to bring the situation to the attention of his colleagues  to invite the Police IG and heads of  other security agencies to provide clarities the concerns  and  find the way forward. Meanwhile, similar letter was also written by Margibi County District 2 Representative, Ivan K. Jones, seeking the appearance of the Justice Minister, the Police IG and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Liberia Immigration Services Head for clarity on the recent alleged human rights violation against a Liberian by a Chinese national. Following the reading of both communications, a motion was made by Lofa County District #4 Representatives, Gizzie Kollin, that those security heads named be made to appear today, February 20 to provide clarity on the matter.
