Christian Community Offers Prayer For Liberia -Ahead of Run-off Election
As Liberians get set to go to the poll on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 to vote in the much anticipated presidential run-off election between the ruling Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) and the Unity Party (UP), the Christian Community of Liberia under the auspices of the βLiberia Fellowship of Full Gospel Ministers and Churches on Thursday, Thanksgiving Day offered prayers and as well committed the Nation into the hands of God ahead of the election.
Accordingly, the occasion brought together scores of pastors in the land to climax the three days of Fasting, Praying and Thanksgiving Service for the upcoming November 14, presidential runoff election. Giving the overview of the program, the Bishop of the Harvest Intercontinental Cathedral, Dr. M. Wolo Belleh said Liberia is a Country that was established by God Almighty, as such, the Nation blessed, describing it as God Heartbeat. According to him, if the people of Liberia will turned away from their wicked ways, humble themselves, pray, and seek the face of God Almighty, thus acknowledging His presence, than He God will hear their cry and forgive them from their sins. Β The Harvest Intercontinental Cathedral Prelate asserted that if Liberians will follow the right path of God, He will heal the Nation, and the country will rise again and prosper no matter the situation the people are going through. Serving as keynote speaker at the ceremony, the president of the Liberia Fellowship of Full Gospel Ministers & Churches, Apostle Samuel B. Carr noted that Liberia being the first independent Nation in Africa, the country is a seed to God. He disclosed that it was not by accident or mistake that the finding fathers established such a unique country called Liberia, as the church which is owned by God will work and pray tirelessly to ensure that the gates of the enemy shall not prevail over the land. Β The program brought together scores of clerics, high profile religious leaders as well as spiritual stakeholders to pray for the Nation and its people in preserving and maintaining the peace ahead of the upcoming run-off election. The intercessory service which was held at the Harvest Intercontinental Cathedral was also graced by high profile dignitaries that include the political leader of the Unity Party (UP), Ambassador Joseph Nyumah Boakia and his team, Vice President Jewel Howard Taylor among others.
