Representative Augustine B. Chiewolo of Lofa County District #5, has provided a mobile money business package to a physically challenged resident of Salayea City.
The benefactor is popularly known as Daddy 001.
The money is to promote economic empowerment and inclusive development for him.
The initiative is to also help Daddy 001 establish a mobile money business, generate income, and become more financially independent.
The package included L$10,000 in startup capital, 100 Lonestar call cards, 100 Orange call cards, one Magic mobile phone, one large umbrella, and a business box to support the operation of the business.
The office of Chiewolo said, the intervention reflects his commitment to create economic opportunities for vulnerable citizens, particularly persons with disabilities, and ensure that development initiatives benefit the locals.
Beyond providing a source of income for Daddy 001, the business is expected to improve access to mobile money, and communication services for residents.
The initiative could also contribute to local economic activities by making essential financial, and communication services more accessible to community members.
The empowerment of Daddy 001 represents one such intervention to help a resident with a physical disability participate actively in the economy.
