Liberia is among the first fifteen countries in Africa expected to benefit from electricity supply under the Africa electricity/ energy initiative. Making the disclosure during his return to the country, President Joseph NyumaBoakai said the initiative upon full implementation will help ease the difficulty faced by Liberians relative to electricity, especially during the dry season. According to him, the summit was a good one and will greatly help the country and the people on the continent.  President Boakai, during an interview with executive Mansion Reporters upon his return to the Country at the Roberts International Airport stressed that Liberia signed said meaningful documents, thereby committing itself to the initiative.  Among other things, the electricity initiative on the continent by 2030 will immensely help in closing the huge gaps normally experienced in the sector, mainly with the people directly feeling the pinch.  President Boakai, as part his government’s development plans places Premier on the electricity and energy sector of the Country. It can be recalled during his SONA address as part of the ARREST AGENDA for Inclusive Development disclosed that he will connect 100,000 households annually. The move will see major contributions from the World Bank, African Development banks among others.
